Bluelight Procurement Portal
What is the Bluelight Procurement Portal
The Surrey Police Procurement Portal is a newly developed facility to assist both prospective and established suppliers in tendering Goods, Works and Services to the Authority.
The Portals aim is to provide an overview of the Authorities Procurement Policies / Procedures / Information and to allow suppliers the ability to view current/future contract announcements (both EU and non-EU public notices) in addition to those Goods, Works and Services already purchased.
In providing the above, the Authority aims to meet the The European Commissions recommendation (Consolidated Procurement Directive) that authorities provide their purchasing and procurement information via a Buyer Profile.
Procurement Management (part of Finance Department) has the responsibility of overseeing all procurement activity on behalf of the Authority and to provide the neccesary framework to ensure a professional procurement service is adopted and intergrated within the Force.
The section has professionally qualified staff with a depth of both public and private sector experience who´s key roles are to:-
- facilitate the tender process
- identify, develop and implement corporate procurement systems and procedures
- provide professional procurement guidance and support
The rules and regulations that govern the Authority´s procurement activity are those determined by European, UK law and those set out in the Authority´s Contract Standing Orders.
